You're looking for a Home Inspector.  You look on the web and find dozens of inspectors.  Each one has a web site simply chock full of information.  Too much information.  How in the heck do you choose one?

It's hard, even a bit daunting.  Everyone says they are the best, the most experienced, the most qualified, the most affordable.  They can't all be.

It's like finding a good mechanic.  The best way is to ask around and check references.  Go ahead, ask questions - it's OK.
